Caroline Blais is a visual artist working and living in Montreal, Canada. She creates under the name Chocobeets since 2005. Why Chocobeets? Well, because she likes chocolate, beets, and finds interesting to make strange mixes and create an unexpected result.

After studies in cinema and design art in Montreal, she leaves to study in northern Finland for a year. There, on the arctic circle, shw finds herself in the middle of a very dynamic artistic scene and discovers VJing, a discipline which combines her passions for graphic design, photography and video.

Back in Montreal, she starts to VJ as Chocobeets, at first for Pecha Kucha Nights at Society for Arts and Technology, then for cultural events such as vernissages for art exhibitions, electronic music festivals or some parties with DJs.

She also collaborates of various other projects: short films, typographic experiments and book projects. All her projectsemerge from the same intent: to create by recycling images, words, objects, techniques or ideas, and transform them into playful products.
